Engine light on, Loose gas cap

I left my gas cap loose and the check engine light came on. Is there anyway to turn it off without taking it to the dealer and paying them to do it.

Should go out by itself eventually, or disconnect the battery for a few minutes should do the trick.
Does the MPV use the ford ecu (eec-v)? if it does let the car idle for about 5 minutes after reconnecting the batt, it needs to reset itself
