ok this may sound stupid, but make sure the gas cap is screwed on correctly. sometime if the gas cap is not on correctly it will cause trouble codes to show up.

The O2 sensor is located on the exhaust. i believe there are 4 o2 sensors on your mpv some my have 6.

i found a pic online of a 2000 mpv and i numbered the o2 sensors i am not 100% sure but the one with the arrow is the problem o2 sensor. someone correct me if am wrong.

it will safe to drive the car till you get the part.

Thanks Saint.I did check the gas cap and it was tight,I was hopeing that was the problem.I had the Mazda checked at Advance Auto they hooked it up to the computer and the code came back to the 02 sensor.Funny thing is though right after he cleared the code in just a few minutes it came back on,well I took the mazda back and had him check it again just to make sure it was the same code and it was he again cleared the code.So far the light has stayed off.I take my kids to school and the light normally comes on before I can get home but it didn't this morning and actuallty it ran like a dream this morning.Maybe I'll get lucky and it wont come on again. Not likley,I am prepareing for it too. I thank you so much for the diagraham that is going to help alot.. Melissa
