Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me with a couple of questions. I'd like to connect my MP3 player to the stereo. I thought that I could simply set up a plug to an audio input in the back of the radio and have a female jack mounted on the dash. From there, I could simply plug my MP3 player into the female jack that I had mounted to the dash. Unfortunately, there is no simple RCA jack in the back of my stereo ( factory installed 6 disck CD). Instead it has the wiring harness on the back and looks like some type of connection on the bottom of the radio. I don't know if that is for the mini disk or SAT.

Has anyone tried this before. If so, any help would be appreciated. I have not been able to find a wiring diagram on line yet. I am currently using an FM transmitter for the MP3 player, but there are a lot of radio stations where I live and finding a vacant number on the radio dial is tough.

My second question is for anyone with the factory installed DVD player mounted on the ceiling. I tried playing a DVD that I had Recorded (DVD-R). The main screen came up, but I wasn't able to play the DVD, which worked fine at home. Any thoughts? I wasn't able to find any documentation saying whether the unit can play recorded DVD's.

Thanks for the help.
Gary

Has anyone figured this one out. I'd like to accomplish the same thing.

I got my own answer at mpvclub.com. You actually don't need to worry about the wiring diagram because there are several companies that make kits for the mpv. I got mine from Grom Audio. Mazda makes an OEM version and another company is DICE.

If you go to mpvclub.com and go the audio forum you will find lots of links to adding a mp3 player to your mpv.
Take care,
Gary
