I have a 1990 MPV 4WD and noticed a small amount of water leaking off the rear of the engine early on in the winter. Now it's a BIG leak and try as I might, even with all the mirror and lighting angles I can muster, I can't find the source. It appears to be coming from near the exhaust cross-over. Checked all the heater hoses, for the front and rear cores, they're fine. I can't find a decent diagram of the rear of the engine, so I'm not sure what I'm up against in trying to locate and repair this. Any ideas?

water or coolant? If you're not losing coolant, it is probably just condensation from the air conditioner (which might be running when you are on defrost mode.

Definately coolant, and at a very fast rate. Thought it was a heater hose, but they all checked out. Nearest I can tell is that it's coming from somewhere above the bell housing.

if its a JE motor, there is a small hose at the back of the head, connect to a Y joint, on the 929 it is under the intake elbow (the one between throttle body and the plenum). it connects to the left head (the hose is only 1"-1.5" long) then Y Joint then one hose connect to the bottom of the throttle body the other one to the Idle Valve on the right valve cover

hope this helps
