Just broke down and put in a KNN filter on my 2002 MPV and bingo... the engine check light comes on. Is this something I need to worry about because the engine is sensing more air than normal? Will it cause problems to the fuel system? Has anyone else had this problem and what was the solution. I don't want to go into Mazda for the $160.00 check up if I can avoid it. Help!!!

Just a filter shouldn't do that unless you put way too much oil on it. Go the autozone or someplace like that and find out what the code is. It might be something completely unrelated like a loose gas cap or something.

OK.. went to AutoZone got codes and made sure all was reconnected correctly. Dropped negative lead, reconnected and bingo. All good. Thanks for responding.
