If its going to be sitting that long not running then I highly suggest a fuel stabalizer. If you let the gas sit long enough it will gum up and cause alot of problems.

Now to answer your question, pearlwhite is right, gas begins to go bad after about 6 weeks and can turn into gunk which can stop a fuel pump. A fuel stabilizer is a good idea.

Very bad fuel can destroy a pump,if it smells like turpentine then its bad. Fuel pumps can pump water just fine, fuel has no lubricating quality,it does keep it cool as does water. However what destroys most in tank fuel pumps is the pressure regulator. Heres how. The fuel pump contains a check valve to hold residual fuel pressure so that when the engine is shutoff the fuel does not drain back in the tank and cause long crank times and rough idle. When started cold the fuel pressure is bumped up to 45 psi or so via the fuel pressure regulator. If the fuel pressure regulator sticks or you don't allow the engine to fully warm up before shutting it off it slams the check valve ball into the seat. If this is done repeatedly the check valve ball becomes lodged into it's seat and the fuel pump has to overcome it. This causes the fuel pump to draw excessive amps and overheat until finally it quits. If the wires on the fuel pump connector look like they have overheated,black,brown,melted insulators, then the pump has overheated. If the van only gets started occasionally and not fully warmed up that could destroy the pump also.
