Our 2004 MPV has about 64K on it. My wife was on a recent road trip with it, and the transmission seemed to start slipping. She had noticed it on and off before on the trip, but this time it was so bad she had to stop and have it towed. The repair shop drove it and could not reproduce the problem, so we decided to try driving it the remaining 100 miles home. She noticed a slight reoccurance of the problem a few miles from home, but was able to make it home OK.
We're not sure what to do right now, because this van seems WAY too new to be having transmission problems.
Anyone seen similar issues? What were the diagnoses?
Also, can anyone point me to a definitive year-by-year description of the mechanicals on these vehicles? I've seen some posts about problems with 2002 MPV transmissions, but I can't tell if the 2004 has the same unit or not.
Just trying to understand how worried I need to be about this vehicle.
