I want to do the swap, but i like the interior of the new ones...What makes it harder to do an engine swap in a 94'-96'...and where do you even go about getting the 200hp engine

I like the older dash style, the newer one looks kinda cheapy to me. donno.

I did however find one, a '92 GS...it's an auto but for $1800 I don't really care, it's switchable anyway.

It's a strange situation too, when it was first listed on AutoTrader I E-mailed the used car lot it's at and they never replied. I called them about a week later and they said the car was gone. Doing the daily AutoTrader search today brought up the car like it always does(I just figured they didn't remove the ad) but I noticed the price had changed from $2500 to $1800. So I called today at work. The first guy I talked to said that they did have it and that it was a 5 speed. He then said that for more info I needed to call their west lot. So I got the number and called. They do have it and it's the V6(the guy tried the fast-talking approach to me first, went like this: "I'm calling in regards to the '92 MX-3 GS you have" "Ohh yes, the MX-3 is a nice car, V6, 6 CD changer" I said "Yeah yeah, I know, 1.8 liter V6, I'm really into Mazdas" "ohh, well this MX-3 is very nice" I said "Well I might buy it, I've been looking for one for a while and you have the one I really want" He's like "Seriously?" I said "yeah...So it's a stick?" He's like "nah, an auto." me "ohh..." "Are you still interested" "Yes, possibly.").
Problem is, today I worked from 9 to 5 and the place closed at 5 today. Tomarrow ofcourse they are closed but I'm going to go there with my brother to check out the car. Monday I have school then work, so that's not going to work. Tuesday I have school but after school I don't have anything so that might be purchase day.

Thats like a few i have found around my area...one listing made me laugh because it claimed it had a v-8...or the post it as a mx-3 and show a mx-6 (the mx-3 looks much nicer)...but i will probably be getting one within the next year, but my biggest problem is where to go to find an engine

Hey, i'd like to add the american mx3 came with those automatic seatbelts and the canadian ones did not. Also, you could very easily do a 94+ dash swap on a 92/93 mx3. I am thinking about doin it in the summer after I get my MX running top notch.

Hi there

Canada has some MX3's in awesome condition. However, be carefull which region you buy it in. This is because in many cities they use massive amounts of salt during the winters. Due to this rust increases. Also do to the brine solution ( salt and water mixed ) the spring snap in half. Mazda Canada has a national recall on this so if you can stop at a dealership to get them replaced for free.
