Has anyone tried to change the timing chain in the 4.0L OHV engine (B4000) WITHOUT pulling the engine out?
I'm giving this work to a car service, but the cost is going to be vastly different, if the job can actually be pulled off without engine out. I have not questioned the need for pulling the engine until I read in Haynes, that it is to ENSURE proper sealing of oil pan, which to me suggests there is indeed enough space to do the work correctly, if one is careful/slow/deliberate enough. Any success stories doing so?
