)I'm sure a Ford 5.0 would fit, as it's fairly compact and the B has a good-sized engine room. And if you go that route, the other members have already mentioned that there are numerous performance options available for Ford's 5.0 motor. There may even be a kit - I've never checked on the B specifically, but there's a 5.0 kit for pretty much everything under the sun that's RWD-based. And yes, there's always nitrous.

A ford 302 and a 351 will fit no prob. A chevy 350 will fit no prob. There is a web site that sells the motor mounts for these swaps, i just forget what it is. U will need a new drive shaft and a new rear end. Also a cross member if I remember correctly. I have a 302 which Im going to put in this summer.
Let me know if you find a web site that sells them. Hope this helps.

THere is a company in canada called Ultimate customs http://www.ultimatecustoms.ca/products/V8mazda.htm Check this site out they have a complete set up for dropping either a small block 350 or a ford 302, also with their kit you wont have to swap the rear end just use an overdrive tranny. such as the 700R4 for chevy, Or an aod ford. Its also really afordable, $195.00 in us money. I am doing this swap myself, the kit comes with complete instructions and a list of aftermarket parts that would be needed for the swap as well. There is no need to cut your firewall or do a bunch of suspension modification, The b2200 of that era used a torsion front suspension, therefor if you dont like the ride height after the swap simply crank the torsion up, or down a bit. Can the 5.0 swap be done in a 95 B2300? It's one of the ranger clones. Also, does any one know of any good sites to get performance parts? I'm having a hard time finding them. Can I just use Ranger parts? maybe they're easier to find.</span>

As for performance parts, try www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com both of these are where I buy all my performance parts. For anything appearance try JC Whitney. Also, I would go heck out some Ranger or S-10 message boards depending on if you want to go the chevy or Ford route. There'll be plenty of people who know what you're in for on there with this engine swap.

I fail to see why you would need a new drive shaft. Consider, the the drivetrain is basically the same tranny and shafts as an RX-7. The RX-7 can put out plenty of power. Also, consider that the tires are gonna burn out long before the drivetrain really gets stressed. The manual tranny itself is nearly indestructible. The clutch might need to be upgraded to a high performance racing clutch. Now if you do something wild, like put on bigger tires, or wider tires, then you will need a new driveshaft. But if you stick with stock type tires, I really don't see a need to. I actually know a guy with a b2200, who has a ford 5.0 in it. He lives about 80 miles away, and yes, he had modified some things under the hood, but still, it is very roomy in there. He left the drivetrain pretty much as is, except he lowered it about 6 inches.
