I already was helped in a way for one of my questions by someone elses question being answered. I have a few more though. First and foremost, I am having troubles with my 4x4 system. It worked when I bought the vehicle, but now when I move the switch to either high or low, nothing happens. No relay clicking, no lights, and no physical 4x4 engagement. I have already looked at the switch to make sure its making contact and not dirty since i know they wear out commonly, I'm wondering where else to look before i go and have the electric motor looked at and the rest of the physical system. Im hoping it may be electrical still, much easier and cheaper for me to fix, unless the motor is burnt out...
And my second question is about suspensions. I want to provide some lift with and a better ride in bumpy conditions etc. I read about a mod done to a 3/4 ton ram that doesnt change the geometry of the suspension but provides lift, room for larger tires, and the ability to jump the truck without breaking the **** thing (not that i am going to ever jump mine, I'd just like knowing i have a suspension strong enough to do so). And any other ideas you may have for me to do, while going in the off road direction with my 4.0 liter truck. thanx

as for the 4x4 prob there are two common problems.
The switch on teh transfer case gets dirty and needs to be cleaned/replaced
Or the vacuum pulse hubs fail...most hard core off roaders swithc to warn manuals

to get a little xtra lift you could crank the torsion bars, but you dont gain any strength. Have to look around at aftermarket stuff if youre gonna get serious, I can voauch for the ranger/b being able to go airborn once in a while withough breaking though

yeah, i have thought about the torsion bars while looking at stronger parts. i was thinking some new shocks to add to it as well. ive been looking for a Haynes tech manual for the 01, but havent found one yet. i'll check out what you suggested for my 4x4 problem, hope its easily fixable. Im just a broke airman, cant afford too much yet thanks for the help and the suggestions
