I have a 1990 B6000i 4x4. I had a problem last week where the clutch pedal sucked down to the floor and the clutch wouldn't disengage. I had to keep it in gear and limp to the nearest garage where they replaced the slave cylinder, and bleeded the hydraulic system. That solved the problem for about a week, but yesterday the same problem happened again. The shop I took it to just pulled the clutch pedal back from the floor and it's operating normally. My options are to drive it and hope it doesn't happen again, or randomly start replacing parts. The mechanic suggested replacing the master cylinder next, and if that doesn't work, the whole clutch. Any suggestions?

is your fluid level okay? perhaps your clutch hose has a leak. don't let the mechanic change your clutch. it's not a clutch. get a new mechanic.

If all of roofadoofalus' words of wisdom were put together, would the entire script cover the back of a matchbox?
