'94 B4000. There is some sort of breather tube under the hood for the exhaust. It's pitted and makes it sound horrible. Anyone have any idea what this is called? I've been looking online to find the part, but have been unsuccessful. It's an S shaped tube with a nylon braided cover on it.

Yeah, sounds like the tube for the EGR valve. Runs from the left manifold up to the bottom of the egr valve. The one on my truck, same model/year, busted where the small tube comes off the big one due to rust. There are various types of muffler and exhaust bandage or putties in the parts stores. Choose the one that claims to withstand the highest temps and bondo it with that. I used one that came with puddy, a piece of screen, and some type of insulator crap. I put on the putty, wrapped the srcreen around it and secured it with 2 hose clamps. So far it works fine and don't even look out of place. But I have to take off the upper intake so as to change the valve cover gaskets, I expect I'll bust that pipe becasue of so much rust. Gonna be a bear to take it off and have to find another, most likely junk yard, first.

I tried the putty, but it continues to rust and it's split pretty much up the length of the pipe. Still trying to find one. No luck at auto parts stores.
