2000 Mazda B3000 Extended Cab

The rear door locking mechanism isnt engaging. The latch was rusty, I cleaned it up and it moves freely now but doesnt click into locked position. Has anyone replaced one of these before??

There doesnt appear to be an access panal in this area.

Have you tried coaating it up with white lithium grease to lube it? Check inside for any broken or bent pieces and just lube everything with lithium grease. To really last, use the kind in a tube instead of the spray, but the spray works great too.
