Default truck wont start HELP!!!!

ok i have an 87 b2000 and i just picked it up from some older guy he said its been sittin in his yard for few years and said the harmonic balancer needed replaced i doug into it lil and fixed the problem timing belt is in time its getting spark and its gettin fuel . i also drained fuel and put new fuel in it and has compression on all four cylinders idk if the carb needs rebuilt or if its worth buying a weber carb kit if any one can help me in any way please please do thanks in advance also i noticed my electric choke isnt hooked up and ther some open vacuum lines and its also like 30 degrees where im at so idk if thast why it wont start

Rebuilt everything get everything hooked up, and then try it again. Carbs don't like be left for long periods of time with old bad gas. If the choke doesn't work, the truck will be harder to start, if it will start at all.

Default choke

hi i have just re-done a head gasket on a truck also for some reason doesnt seem to want to fire up , i have noticed that also on this one that the wire from the choke is not hooked up , can you at all help me where the wire is supposed to go from the choke ? cheers

There is a single connection on the back of the alternator where the choke wire plugs into. It's designed this way so the choke only gets power while the engine is actually running.
