Default 87 B2200 upgrades

I have a B-2200 yr 87 with some upgrading like 92 grill,92 seats. the truck is manual and i have it since 1990 (since high school) now the truck is out of shape I want to repair it but with very good upgrades like power steering, rack and pinion and a bigger engine. can some one suggest some ideas on my proyect? ahh I almost forget it is a single cap. all help will be apreciated

A better solution than bigger engine in my opinion, is to swap parts or an engine off a Mitsubishi turbocharged engine. It fits better, requires less modification, and can often produce more power than a bigger engine anyway. The Mitsu 2.4L engines are good choices.

You are not going to have much luck with the grill, the body style is different between years, but the seats shouldn't give you a problem.

As far as donor motors, most of the mid to late eighties Mitsubishis and Mitsubishi made Chryslers will be fairly close matches. You will of course have to do much of your own homework on that, but the Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, etc are good starting points. The real trick is getting one that will mate to your trans, or at least has the right bolt pattern. However you have the same issues with most other swaps anyway.
