Default Blown head gasket?

Hi.

How would I know if I have a blown head gasket? Too costly to repair?

Get it tested, that how you know for sure. Blown head gaskets leave telltale signs, and the system can be pressure tested. As far as cost, that depends on what motor, and what you think its worth and how much you can do yourself.

Hi about the head gasket testing it is not hard with proper tools and a little know how 1)get a radiator funnel kit any tool place have them for about $20.00 best investment u do for now
2)installed in radiator and start engine if coolant does not come out like a fire hydrant then let the vehicle engine to come to operating temp if u start seeing the dreaded bubbles coming out of the radiator u got head gasket problems.
3)at one or two time i found also leaks @ exhaust ports, remove exhaust manifold, after bringing engine to operating (exhaust manifold i s HOT) pressurize radiator and look for coolant drop in exhaust port very common with F2 heads.
2.2 head they are not hard to do , 2.6 head a little more work
THE RIGHT TOOLS AND A LILLTE KNOWHOW .........PATIENT GETS THE JOB DONE !
