Default Shock Problem?

1994 B4000 w/200,000 miles, when I run across a rough area in the road(minor pot holes) the trucks front end kind of bounces to the right ,skipping sort of. Everything seems to be tight , not much play in the steering. Could the shocks be doing this? I removed them and they seem to have even resistance even though they are at least 5 yrs old. Also, when I go over a minor pot hole ,it sounds like I hear a metal clank. Thanks for your help, Charlie

What kind of shocks are they? A metal clank though sounds like a sway bar link, or some bushing that has worn out.

OE Shocks, changed the radius arm bushings where they attach to the frame even though they were not worn out. All the other bushings look ok. But that does not mean they are ok.
