It has been a long time since I have done a Tune up...
But I bought these 4 Iridium spark plugs and new wires for the Miata they are for my 92 Miata, do I have to gap these new plugs ? to .043 ?? This is the manuals gap recommendation.
I cannot find the answer ? I checked on line and no one seems to indicate either way? I know they are a newer type new plug. I asked a small time mechanic and he said today plugs come already gapped but the gap I measure is not .043 and much larger. So do I gap or not and I am nervous in a way as they say Iridium plugs are fragile and can fracture ? It sounds like if you by the right plugs for your vehicle they shouold be set. So I am confused ? The Mechanic did not give me any confidence to his answer. Also maybe these Iridium plugs do not need gapping?
Thank you in advance
