Thanks for clearing that up for me. So there's the standard chrome bar, colour coded bar and a sports grill to choose from . When I saw the pictures of the Mazda 3 with different style grills I I couldn't work out what it was going to be sold as but now realise that they were sporting optional grills that can be bought as an extra.

It might be interesting for you all to know... I just registered MazdaAxela.com

It will simply point here.... we are going to be broadening our horizons to encompass every model that Mazda makes and offer full support here for them.

I was just look up on the Ford Focus, for the MSRP of 16670 you get things like power sunroof, in dash six CD changer an sport suspensions, alloy wheels. Since the Axela is suppose to be the Mazda version of the Focus(sorta), I think it should have those things at about the same price.

When will the price and available pkg will be anouced? And the 3 will be here in October right?

Thanks

No. At least not in Seattle. All the dealers I've talked to are predicting december for the 3. I think the 3 will also have a higher sticker price due to it's (I hope) much higher level of quality (i.e. the casing doesn't come off the seat-adjustment rack within the first five minutes in the car).

Just need to confirm something, is the 2.0L MZR a brand new engine? If it is(instead of the protege 2.0L pumped up to 150hp), then it could have the 187ft/lb posted in the third page.

What's bugging me is that the consumer review CAR buyer's guide said the torque to be 137ft/lb.

I think 187ft/lb of torque is good, since torque is what we feel. I'm really not that big on horsepower, since my tercel gets me to everyplace I want to go.

I'm also guessing the price will be very close to the protege.

thanks.

Found something interesting.

http://groups.msn.com/BrunoLuong/ustrimsandprices.msnw

The prices and packages.

The Sunroof and CD changer Package was 690 on the Protege/Protege5

Braking adn Aribag package that includes ABS and front side airbags was 490, with the new package EBD is available, my guess is about 700 for the package.

Leather was 490 for the protege5

Anybody know how much the Xenon head lights and tire pressure monitor will cost? Or a cofident guess?

Thanks.

It's settled. If the test drive goes OK I'm definitely getting a 5-door 3s.
