I walked into the local dealership this past Saturday and from way across the room a salesmen yelled out "How's it going?" as he made his way over to me. I'm a 21-year-old who definitely isn't used to being acknowledged at a car dealership, so that was my first pleasant surprise.
I told him I was interested in the 3 (they had five on the lot) and so he went out with me and we had a look at them and he told me a little bit about them. Then he asked me if I wanted to drive one (another big surprise as usually I have to request to drive a car, since I'm 21 as mentioned above). He said he was busy so he couldn't go with me (aw, shucks), and he just gave me the dealer plate and the key and let me go. I drove the car around for about 10-15 minutes like I just stole it from the police impound lot (maybe that's why car salespeople discriminate against young males) and was thoroughly impressed with the car's handling and acceleration. Every aspect about the drive was great actually, Mazda has a real winner on their hands. I drove a black sedan GT with a manual transmission. This was in Brantford, Ontario too, in case you're from the area. |

Hey a Brantfordite.
Was this at Lallo mazda. Who was your salesperson? I was in last week and get the same service. Of course I'm older. I took a sunset orange GT with the GFX pkg for a spin. I was supposed to go alone but at the last minute he decided to go along. But man did he let me explore the limits of the car. A little advice, never buy a car that has been sitting on the lot (esp if it has more than 50km on it); you know it's been test driven. Regardless of what the manufactures recommendations are, I always break an engine in gradually. PS I would never test drive a car hard unless a salesperson allowed me to. |
