Just curious if anyone knows what K&N will fit in this car, I'm thinking factory replacement panel filter and all. I have a K&N in my Pro5 now, I'm curious if it will swap over. I am going to put in my spare factory paper filter when I turn in my Pro5 hopefully Monday, I'll let anyone interested know if my existing K&N fits.

I've sent off an E-mail to K&N on this, hopefully we'll hear something back soon. I took my K&N out of my Pro5 tonight before I traded it in and just from my quick glance I don't think the panel will just drop in. I can't say for sure but it looks like the airbox and battery are housed in the same thing? I didn't have time tonight but perhaps this weekend I'll take open the air box and have a look see. K&N didn't list anything for this model yet though I'm sure something will be out by spring. I'd also be interested in what Crutchfield would list for this car as speaker/stereo options. I'm actually quite happy with the stock stereo, but I may get the hankering for some better than stock door speakers.

After reading the manual it appears I may have spoken too soon. It's just the air cleaner area is covered by an apparent cooling port to the battery case, nifty. I'm going to take a look at the air filter tomorrow night if I can, as long as it's not too frigid in the garage when I get home.

That'd be cool. I forgot I had a vendor Xmas function tonight so I just got home a short while ago. I will go out tomorrow for sure after work and take it apart, of course with pictures!

Well took a quick glance tonight, man what a PITA compared to the Pro5 to get in there. I didn't take any pictures but then again I didn't go in all the way because it was a PITA.
- First remove the three plastic screws on the triangular piece that attaches to the battery box's ventilation feed. -Pop that piece off and then loosen a couple of the cips on the top of the battery box lift up enough to wiggle the ventilation feed from the battery box, the front should just pop out of it's hole, it's not held in by anything. - Now you can see the airbox and the 8 or 9 hoses and cables running into it. To access it, just pop the four metal clips from the box (watch out for the 2 on the engine side of the airbox they are difficult to get back on and one is very close to the electric fan. I was able to gently twist the airbox lid free enough to start pulling the air filter out of the box. The filter in there is nearly twice as thick and it's a good 2 inches wider than the Pro5 one so no go there as suspected. I'd be interested in hearing about a different solution though. Later,
