As for the worst sounding exhaust, listen to the WRX with a cat back on it. I've yet to hear one that didn't sound like crap.
You must be nuts! LOL I have never heard anyone say that they dont like the sound of a flat four with good exhaust. The WRX and even more so the STi have the best sounding idle of any four cylinder out.

It's hard to tell, but I hope you were joking.

Of course you said "idle"... and idle is a part of a good sounding exhaust I believe idle should be pretty quiet, but its under throttle where you tell if an exhaust sounds like crap or not. And the WRX boxer engine design sounds terrible. Compare it to my MR2 Turbo and there is no competition. The Ferrari 355 also has a nice sounding exhaust.

i work with 2 WRX owners... one guy had a full system that eliminated 2 of the 3 cats and it sounded horrible! The other one just got a 3" cat back system with a Brullen muffler and it sounds GREAT, deep and mellow with a nice snarl under WOT

Yeah neither have I. I am pretty sure they sold a hatch or two before mine but they don't commute down memorial at the same time I do.
