Thumbs up

How do you diasble the seatbelt bell ? I have looked in the manual and it seems you can TEMPORARILY disable by fastening seatbelt for 2 seconds and then unfasten within 20 seconds. BUT, the next time you turn the car on it is back. I previously had a 2002 FOCUS that I went through a similar exercise, but it worked permanately.

Anyone know how to do this short of ripping out the dinger.....?

Thanks

I swear on mine that the beeping stops once you start driving...like above 10 MPH or so. I suppose that could be a problem in stop/go traffice........bummer.

I New York State, we have to wear them......so it's not a bother to me.

usualy it is just a ground wire that goes in to the seatbelt (the latch part) and is connected to a wire grounded on the car when the belt is inserted...

therefore, if you just take off the seat, look under it, and jump the 2 wires so it is always grounded, you will make it think that the seatbelt is always in.

or you could just wear it anyway like any self-respecting person.

I love and hate that seatbelt dinging but it is a great feature. In my last car i got caught not wearing my seatbelt and $120 and 3 demerit points later i still didn't learn my leason. With the M3 the dinging annoys me till I can't take it anymore and i put it on. It saves you the ticket by annoying the **** out of you

Why don't you just cut the damned belt? Then put in the clicker thing so it doesn't chime

One good accident and you won't have to worry about that annoying seatbelt bell. It won't bother you when you're 6 feet under!

I too agree that you should just wear the **** thing.

If for whatever reason you think seatbelts are uncool, stupid or life-threatening perhaps you could try one of the following (in addition to learning to type with a pencil in between your teeth for when you're a quadraplegic due to a broken neck from going thru your windshield):
1: fasten the seatbelt before you get into the car and leave it that way... thus it being fastened behind you.
2: go to a junkyard and yoink a seat belt buckle, making sure it fits, and leaving in the female part of your buckle all the time.

Uh... good luck with getting rid of the dinging... and surviving your first accident with all your facial bones in tact.

your dealership can get rid of it for you, if the problem is you are too fat for your seatbelt, your dealership will also give you an extension free of charge. its in the manual don't ask me.
