I'm sure I don't have the same kit as harrison888, but the bulbs that came with my HID kit had the h7 base and were almost direct fit. I did have to do use washers to add some thickness to the base, because they use a thicker base for the bulb on the 3. I got the kit from cartech on ebay($375.00 shipped), it's the second kit of his that I've installed, and both worked perfectly.

hey ppl
for ppl in canada or us owners who did not get the HID option, you can use the stock halogen projectors and install a set of HID kit, but the output won't be as good as projectors made for HID lighting.
But if you are on a budget, shop around of HID kits (get osram (OEM) and phillips kits) probably on ebay would be a good starting place... if not check the classified section from www.hidforum.com
BUT if you want to go all out, get some HID projectors and retrofit, but since the M3 is a new car... you probably won't want to fiddle around iwth anything hahahaha
