Does anyone have any advise on what type of aftermarket tires I should consider. I just bought the Mazda3 s Sedan and have the 16" stock tires that are from 'Toyo.' I've never heard of Toyo so I'm not familiar with its reputation and durability. I live in NJ and the wheather is a factor (snow, ice, rain, basically everything). I do love the stock rims, I will keep them for a while.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

well, its kindi half and half, first off, I'm very suprised it came with toyo tires, there really more of an aftermarket company, mazda has been known to use dunlap and mich for a number of years. toyo is known for high performance aftermarket tires, however they usually have very poor thread wear, sometimes going as little as 8k. if you really want to upgrade I would look at the bridgestone so-3's over at tirerack.com

if you want really good aftermarket tires for poor weather get nokian tyres

they last a long time and have some of the best grip, however, they are gonna cost you, so be prepared to drop a decent chunk of money

Thanks for the feedback, I'll certainly take a look at the tires you both have recommended. I did hear some good things about Toyo as an aftermarket tire.

Anyways, thanks again for the feedback.

Not sure if they make them in our sizes, but Firestone Firehawk SZ50-EP's were by far the best tires I have ever owned.

It all depends on how much you wish to pay for the tires. It also depends on which kind of tires you are looking for...4-season or winter?

TOYO are good 4-Seasons tires but not high performance ones.

I have no recommendation for 4-seasons 'cause I haven't been looking for 'em.

I just bought winter tires for my M3. I had 17inch 4-season wheels but change the wheels to 16inch and the tires are LM-22 195/65/R16 from BFGoodrich. They are very good tires but my first choice were the Yokohama IG-10.

Hope it helps...Both Winter tires go for about $130 CND
