Hey,
I am getting a Mazda 3 GT ... I couldn't help but notice that there is no line in for my IPod. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with putting one in. Is it hard? I'm not very car saavy. Is it something the dealer could do? or should I take it to an audio shop? (And yes, I know I could get the IPod FM transmitter, but the quality would be better on a hard line). Any help would be appreciated. Hey, I also couldn't help but notice the lack of quality pictures of the hatchbacks in the color "Black Mica".... Any links to some would be superb. ![]() Cheers! I just bought a IPOD Mini and searched different forums for tips. There apparently is a way to hard wire the IPOD so that you can fool the factory head unit to think that there is a tape player. Some guys at a RX-8 forum is trying to fabricate a adopter bracket for OEM Mazda head unit, but it won't be available for a while. Another costly option is to buy a factory cassette deck and using the tape adopter.
To answer your question regarding Black Mica, I originally ordered a black mica hatch and ended up going with silver because black mica looked really funky at night under street lights. It kind of looked dark purple under certain lighting condition. |

I may be wrong about my first reply. There may be a way to wire your IPOD. Check out the following link to see the instructions for RX-8. I would imagine the instructions would be similar with Mazda3, but I wouldn't mess with circuit board like this guy unless I'm absolutely sure about what I'm doing.
