I use mine a lot, it allows you to downshift at will. Also, in full auto the rpms rarely get to more than 4k unless you're fully flooring it. I like to floor half-way and let it zip to 6k just to hear that nice sound... It's real idiot-proof, it'll never let you downshift if you would over-rev, and puts itself back into 1st at full (or near) stop.

My car is automatic (Mazda 3 Sedan)and am a bit conerned that when the car is COLD the auto gear change from first to second is abit harsh (sometimes)
The car only has about 500km on it now-love the car so smooth and quiet, and when warm transmission change is almost seamless Would like some feed back from others.... Love using the transmission manually sometimes, and auto for traffic... The car is so much better and more solid than the Nissan pulsar I trade in. Love the finish and solid feel of the car..... Hope to hear from you! geraldh@ihug.com.au Sydney Australia |

Geraldh,
You're right. When the transmission fluid is cold, it shifts later (longer time than showing on the dash) and at higher RPMs. You can also feel it when shifting, but that's normal for a fluid base transmission. I leave in Canada, and used with cold temperatures. I didn't notice this over 5C... though
