Is the Mazda 3 the next honda civic?

This car looks popular as **** already. do you think that it is going to be the next big car that everyone loves and buys? Will you see this car everywhere on the roads and not be unique??

Personally I hope the Mazda3 is not the next Honda civic, if it is they we must brace ourselves.

Don't get me wrong the civic are great econo cars just not near the preformance edge of the mazda3

i think we will see a ton of them sold, they are cheap and you get a lot of bang for your buck

don't count on being unique with a car that cheap

The only reason I wouldnt mind it being the next civic, would be the fact that the value of the car will hold. Which is great when I want to go trade it in or sell it for a new one...other than that, I had a civic before my 3S and it doesnt even compare...So to me, its already BEYOND the Civic.

the only reason i would want it to be popular is that aftermarket companies can do a lot of performance parts for it.
but that's the only reason.
i really don't want it to become like the civic...at least 3-4 at every red light.

the mazda 3 is like one step higher than your typical civic or other econo-box.

true, but this only b/c corolla and civic have been out already for 3-4 model years.
the bar has been raised, and i don't think honda and toyota will just sit back and not be as aggressive with their civic and corolla redesigns.
the corolla is already getting more aggressive with the xrs. its not as cool as the mazda3, but its certainly a step in the right direction.

i expect honda and toyota to re-raise the econobox standards late next year with the 2006 lineup.

haha me too, this car is 100x better than my turbo civic was. it handles so much better and doesn't give me any problems. i love it

I have only seen one 5 door and one 4 door on the road so far. Great looking cars. I would love one for my daily driver.

To me it doesn't really matter. On one hand it would be nice to have a lot of them sold for the aftermarket. I plan on personalizing my 3 to make it unique to me .
