Guys,
Had my car for 3 weeks and when I put the key in the ignition tonight, it won't turn over at all. Called roadside assistance and they said to have it towed. More info: when I truned key to start it does nothing, nothing at all. Lights work fine so I know battery is ok, car was not idle for more than a day. Also when key turned entire dash was lit and security light is blinking and a yellow AT is lit up. Is this standard for these to light up when trying to start the car? This really bites. Please let me know if this is a chip thing or is there a way to overrride the security system. Joe |

They had to come and pick it up with a flatbed! They called me next day to say it was an immobilzer problem. That was Wednesday. Then they called me back and said they needed the 2nd key, because they could not fix it unless they had both keys??? A chip??? Then they called on Thursday to say they were still working on it. Then they called on Friday and said it might be a computer problem...The person said they would call on Monday. This is ridiculous. They offered me a loner but I want my car with 40 miles.

Using a flatbed is the best way to avoid towing damage. I wouldn't be concerned about one failure of the immobilizer, so long as it was a random event and there is nothing that can physically cause it to repeat. They probably needed your second key to Reprogram the replacement electronics. How quick did the Roadside Assistance respond? |

1. download this thing... http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayManual.action and read 3-24
2. Try another key (with just the key with nothing attach to it) |
