Mazda 3 Hatch.
It's new at the dealers, but for some reason has already 325 miles on it. It comes with ABS/Airbags Xinon head lights/Tire monitor Moonroof/6 disc changer Cargo net/Wheel locks 7.6% sales tax and everyother fee....Out the door for $20,5001.21 I had originally was going to tell them $20,400 OTD,but had all night to think about things to ask them. I asked how many miles on it. When they told me,I then lowered my firm buying price to $20,300. He came back with $20,5001.21. Im a little perinoid about buying it now that I know it has that many miles on it. I wanted the one to break her in,not a hole bunch of crazzy test drivers. I have Capitol one sending me an overnight check for $18,500 then rest would be cash. Opinions please. |

Mine had 500 some miles on it when I bought it, they drove it in from a dealership in Chicago to trade it for another one. Kinda pissed me off at first, but I got over it. As long as my warranty started from where the mileage was when I took delivery, that's all I really cared about, and it did. You can find out the dealer invoice on edmunds.com and use that for bargaining, but you probably shouldn't expect to pay any less than a few hundred dollars over their invoice. I was able to get by with no negotiating, but only with the S-plan for Ford employees (one in my family). I'd say just find the invoice price with the installed options, see how much lower the invoice is than what they're offering, and if it's close, go for it. You won't be disappointed. My dealer said there's almost no markup on 3's, and it makes it real hard for him to sell 'em, because people think he just doesn't want to deal. Apparently there's just not much room for negotiation. For example, the sticker on mine was 15,2 I think, and I paid exactly the invoice price of 14,1. Not a huge difference really. Hope that helps, good luck, let us know what you decide.

What was the sticker? that "out the door" price doesnt sound bad since it looks to be laoded, as long as it truley covers taxes title etc. If your worried about the extra milage tell them to gie you a couple free oil changes or something just to get somethingout of it...I've bought cars straight off the trailer, with virtually no miles and ones with 200+ and there is no correlation with how many problems the vehicle caused me. I wouldnt sweat that, but I would try to get something for it

The S-plan is great. I haven't gotten my 3i yet, but plan to in July. All I pay is invoice, even on the options. It's going to save me I think about $800-1000 from the TMV price on Edmunds. I work for UPS so I am eligible for the S-plan, check with your employer, who knows you could be eligible too.

In CA, we paid $20,500 for M3-5. This included: 2.3L engine, Sports package, ABS+airbags, moonroof, leather, 6CD changer, CA tax of 8.25%, license and registration for CA, loyalty bonus of $500. We got this deal through Costco auto club. The car had 20 miles on it when we picked it up. That was one thing we asked from the dealer: less than 50 miles on the car at time of purchase.

S-plan is definately the way to go...my work uses Ford (cough) for fleet cars and so I was able to use that as a way to get Mazda S-plan pricing. Alittle under invoice. (the REAL one, not the inflated one dealers use when they advertise on radio/TV) And also got the $500 Loyalty rebate--- I have had a Mazda in my garage of some sort for the last 21 years. They kinda did the hard sell for extended warranty and all but that's to be expected since they weren't gonna make any profit on the car itself. So I threw them a bone and got the 36mo of "free" scheduled maint. Was only a couple dollars more on the payments.
Oh yeah, it's the 5door in Black Mica with: Xenon/tire pressure package, 6 cd changer/moonie, autostick, ABS with side impact bags---under $20,000 |

Just picked up my Mz3 last week basically at invoice. 210 miles on the vehicle (it had just been traded between dealerships)
2004 Mazda3s 5-door Titanium Gray Black Leather MSRP $16,895 $40 - Cargo Net $300 - Compass/Autodim mirror with Homelink $45 - Rear Bumper Step Plate $30 - Wheel Locks $590 - Leather Seating Surfaces $800 - ABS/SAB.SAC Package $890 - Moonroof & 6-cs Package $700 - Xenon & TPMS Package total cost to me $20,810 plus tax Didn't really want the cargo net. I had been interested int he mirror (but without homelink). I hadn't planned on the Rear Bumper step, but it has allready come in handy. I was indifferent to the wheel locks. Basically it came with a few options, and was a take them, or don't get the car. A small sacrifice for this car in my mind. The compass/autodiming mirrior came in real handy on a road trip this last weekend. Xeider
