The Basslink has its own amp, the stock speakers will be running off of the HU's amp so there's no chance of you blowing the stock speakers.

I put a line out converter on the rear speaker wires from the head unit, and added a MMATS 500.2 watt amp and 2 MMATS 12" subs. The bass is insane. Installation was cake, since this car is so easy to take apart.

So how is the 6 speaker stereo system in the mazda 3s? Is the Bass in the car satisfying for a stock system?

Well, I gave into the low price a few days ago and bought an 8-inch Bazooka EL8A powered subwoofer. I had high expectations, but so far I'm satisfied. It won't blow off your doors or anything, but it'll deliver decent enough bass that won't get your pulled over.

...definetly an improvement!

Well, yes and no.

The HARDEST part is drilling into the firewall that separates the engine from the interior. Luckily, my dad--who learned from an electrician--was there to help. After that, though, running the wires to the trunk--where the bazooka is housed--was more or less a cake walk. The door panels are super easy to remove and put back on. In the process, however, the "snap-on piece" of one of the rear door trims popped off, but we were able to glue it back with some silicone.

We referenced to the audio hook-up guide from some 3-owner's webpage on cardomain.com. I think it was vaZoom or vaBoom, but I'm not sure. (Many thanks, by the way, if you're out there!).
