Damm just driving the car normally and the engine check light came on ?

The engine does sound a little bit louder on acceleration but other than that seems to be driving fine.

Wonder what the heck it is this time will have to pass by the dealer and have them scan it for error code ?

Post the code when you get it, and I'll pull the info.

You can just drive the car and make them change the sensor when I got my car in Dec 03 it went one months later and then another month later got it replaced.

Went to Markham Mazda today service rep pissed me off. He is a damm Idiot the guy that sits in the middle. Keith the cnd guy was sick and he has been helpfull.

I was in the area and stoped by and asked if they could check the engine check light damm it only take 2 mins to take the scanner for the code to the car.

He reason was oh you have to make a appointment we are very busy. **** they were 3 bays were open and half the service parking lot was empty. This was around 12:30pm.

I said the older service manager Mike he is no longer there when my check light came on he came to the car and scan the code said it was front crash air bag sensor wrote up a service order and order the part.

Damm idiot wanted me to come there two times once to read the code and then fix it another time ??

The consensus on Markham Mazda is that their service sucks. I went to Avante Mazda when my CEL came up and I didn't need an appointment to have it read, and I went right in the morning which is usually their busiest time. It only takes a few minutes to pull the code from the ECU.

Thank you I think I will pass by Avante maybe even give them a shout to ask if it's ok to pass by and ask them to pull the code and if it needs part have them order and make the appoitment the same time.

I told the idiot at Markham that even though it's warranty work the mechanic still makes money from Mazda Canada I will never bring back the car there again for any service and walked out.

That was the point I was trying to make pull the code and if you have the parts in stock I would have made a appointment to get it fix another day.

Was that too hard to ask the idiot to provide that little extra service. Telling me oh we are busy when 3 bays were empty and also half the service lot. ?

The previous service manager Mike was good and did that I wonder where he went Keith is now the service manager and he was off sick.

Crossbow maybe you can tell us what the new software is.

Finally got the time and ended up calling Avante but they were not taking any appointment till next week.

Called Morningside Mazda and explained and Cezar, he was very helpfull said bring it in no appointment.

Morningside Mazda were very friendly and Azmat was the service rep. He said it would take up to a hour and I was ok with that.

Looking on the work order it says Cause: 99
F0008XDX EGI Sysyem Diag

Then 3785 WP.

Maybe it's mind over matter but I think the motor rev a bit smoother, quietier and seems to have a little bit more torque especially on the highway. When you press on the throttle in 5th gear you can feel a bit of resistance/response in the gas pedal and the car accelerates.

Maybe it's in my head.

The service guy said they reprogram the engine software as I asked what error code was it and he said again they had reprogram the engine software.

I need the error code . It was probably just an evap system leak, which the fix is a pcm update. They just hook your car up to a machine, and it downloads new software in, nothing major.
