Our 2004 Mazda 3 GT Sport has only 5000 miles. We thought the squeak from the clutch peddle would have been gone by now. The noise is actually coming from the cylinder rod as it moves in and out of the gasket. I tried spraying automotive silicone grease on the rod, but no luck. The dealership did the same thing when my wife took it in for an oil change (and to fix the frong passenger side wiper blade... not working well). IT STILL SQUEAKS!!! I might try some dry graphite powder next.

There are no Technical Service Bulletins on the NHTSA web site about this problem, so I'm wondering if I'm on the only one with the noise. Anyone else have this problem? Has anyone fixed it?

Thanks -GotMass

Yup, white ceramic grease for skateboard bearings etc fixed mine a treat.

Cheers from Down Under!

Okay, so far that makes two Mazdas on the entire planet that have squeaky clutch pedals. Anyone else?

Okay, this is seriously starting to bother me. There's only two Mazda 3's out of thousands that has a squeaky clutch pedal?

Please, even if you've never had this problem, I'd like to hear from you. It would at least confirm that my clutch has an unusual problem.

Txs

Thanks. You're lucky you don't have the problem. Just imagine this annoying squeak... like a creaky door in a horror movie... every time you clutch. IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!!!

You're not the only one, my 3 had the squeaky clutch pedal too. It was solved by my dealer replacing the complete clutch pedal / master cylinder assembly. It has been great ever since the replacement.

Aiight...mine doesn't squeek, but I 'ave an interesting problem.

This is my first manual car. I've been driving manuals for 14 years (since before I was legal), but they've always been someone elses. When I'm booting around in the city I rev match, heel 'n' toe, and sometimes even double clutch...but...this last week, I noticed something when I take off.

My car shudders a spot when the clutch is fully engaged. I don't think I want to hear the answer to this...but is my clutch slipping after 34K?

If so, will a heavier duty clutch (aftermarket or mazdaspeed) solve this? Or do I 'ave to start pussyfooting around until I get a real setup?

I had the squeaky clutch pedal problem. First the clutch pedal position switch was replaced, then the whole clutch pedal assembly which solved the problem.
