My Mazda 3i is two months old and the check engine light turned on yesterday. A friend tried plugging in the OBD-II to check the engine codes, but his software couldn't detect the connection or something to that effect (he was disappointed that his OBD didn't help).
Any ideas as to what could be wrong? The car seems a little sluggish on the low RPMs sometimes (or that could be my imagination). I checked the gas cap and wound it several times; it seems to be tight. Thanks. |

I work at a dealership and I see that problem on cars all the time. What it probly is, is an O2 sensor. They go all the time on cars. Hopefully it should be covered under your warrenty. |

My fiance has this car. It's only 3 years old and he's already had the fuel pump replaced twice, the car has died on him 3 times and he's had to tow it. I don't know what the problem was the 3rd time. But every time the check engine light was on. Although yesterday, it died aaaagain...no check engine light though...and so we towed it again and now its the throttle something or other...neverending problems I tell ya.

My Mazda 3 stalls all the time. Recently after a stall the check engine light came on. A few days later the light went off as the dealer said it would. The Dealer could NOT find a stored code. Mysterious piece of crap car. No one can help. Off to mazda canada I go.
