Need advise on 2007 Mazda 3

I have a 98 millenia with 95500 miles on it and looking to trade in my car on this 2007 Mazda 3. Its the 2.3 model with 17" alloys, 6 disk changer, sun roof and tip auto. How reliable are these cars. I know parts on the millenia are expensive. The gas on the millenia is only about 20-22 on highway. I was set on a 05 camry with 18" bbs but this mazda is a little cheaper and I do need a reliable car. I heard the 2.3 was fun and peppy to drive. I drive back and forth to work 75 miles per day. How is the ride on the cars. Thanks.

oh and they are asking 12500 for the car with 35k on it. 2007 model.

The 3 will not be as smooth a ride as the Millenia (or the Camry) on your long commute. More weight smooths a ride, generally speaking. However, the 3 is far more fun to drive in the twisties than either of the other cars. A playful chassis is one of it's biggest attributes. As far as mileage goes, there is a thread on that not too far down.
