If I have the battery replaced will that solve my problem? Is there only one size of battery that can go in a Mazda3??
Thanks!

The only issues you should experience, and they are very minor ones, are lost info in the form of tripometer mileage and radio station settings.
I have disconnected my battery a number of times to reset the ECU and those are the only "problems" I've had.
