Hello, i'm having a problem with the CD player in my Mazda3 GT 05. I have some burned CD's and when i make them play after about 1 hour or so the music starts to glitch repeatedly and it gets louder as the CD comes closer to the end. It also has trouble skipping to the last songs when that happens. It's like the player gets warmer and starts not being able to read the disc correctly. The radio doesnt do that only the CD player. I've tried burning CD's slower, with different programs and different computer but nothing changes.
I went to my dealer with that but they didnt know what it was and suggested i buy a new one since my warranty is only still valid for mechanical issues. I would rather not have to buy a new one because it's a little too expensive.
If anyone know what the problem is or has any suggestions please tell me.
Thx

And yes my burned CD's come from MP3's, but i dont know if that should matter since they are converted to regular CD format while burning them.

Same here. Just got my 05 sp23 the other day and was going to experiment with burning speeds etc but after I've read your post I don't think I will bother...... ****. What was the price you got quoted on a newer unit? And it would also be good to get a unit that has the trip computer built in.... I think our best bet would be to get a second hand 06 model as it has the trip computer and I read about some guy getting one for $35. Only thing I dont know is if it will fit the 05 mazda 3. I wonder if anyone can confirm that?

A new one would be around 500-600$ here in canada. So i'm not gonna buy that. I know i could get a used one for much cheaper but whats the point? It might do the same thing or be even worst. So yeah maybe a 2006 radio would work i guess if it can fit in the dashboard. But i hate buying used stuff. So buying another kind of radio would be the thing to do i guess. Thing is, the only reason i had to use the CD player was because there was no Aux plug. But i found something here http://www.sylfex.com/products/AuxMod/ i'm gonna order one when they get some and hopefully say goodbye to all my CD's :P.

I've had this problem with my 05 since I bought it.. I also remember many people complaining about it at the time. My workaround was to use higher quality CDs. I always use Sonys and 99% of the time they work great. Avoid any generic and cheap brands such as Staples branded CDs. It seems to be a problem as the CD tried to read the outside of the CDs. What is weird is that the first and last tracks always work fine, its the middle tracks that cause problems.

So yeah.. Try better CDs and see if that fixes it.
