Broken Hood Latch Handle

After 4 years, something on my Mazda 3 finally broke. The center Mounting peg on the hood latch handle broke, leaving it dangling. Thankfully I can grasp the latch in my hand and unlatch the Hood.

Has any one replaced their hood latch handle? If so:

1. Is the latch available separately, or will I have to replace the cable/latch as a unit?
2. Degree of difficulty as a DYI project? (keeping in mind a 55 year old back!)
