I to have heard that saying but don't believe in it.

I think there are 2 possible outcomes of existance.

1 being that earth was a misake through a combo of timing, placement, and all kinds of other factors to create life, as such we are alone in the universe.
or 2. life throughout the universe is very common and we simply haven't found it yet. Half of them having there own form of religion, the other not.

especially floods people use to think were the gods becoming mad, but now we know better.

Personally I believe there isn't just life outside life, but lots of it spread throughout, however how advanced I do not know. I'm willing to accept that maybe we were the first and perhaps were the invading aliens

I believe in god, althought i also believe that religion is a bunch of organizations that are set up to brain wash people(cults). Think about it how many wars have been faught/still fighitng over religion? Some pastor telling his people "follow god its our destiny to whipe out that nation". thats a bunch of bullshit, i know a greater power exists and als oi believe its a sin to use his name to promote violence. Which a lot of preachers have done making religions into cults.

People of faith will believe regardless of what circumstances surround their given religion. It's rumored that Jesus was married (historically speaking), but his 'divinity' was included into his being unwed, and thus that's the commonly accepted knowledge. Women were powerful figures in Christianity, because they gave birth, because they represented new life. But men over the years changed it so that women were dirty, and the embodiment of 'original sin' by taking the apple from the tree.

There are a lot more correlations that can be drawn historically that prove much of religion as it's written, to be relatively inaccurate. I believe Jesus existed, but I don't believe he was the son of God, nor was he divine -- he was merely a good person whose teachings were threatening to those in power at the time, thus martyring him.

In most religions, 'hate' is a big part -- and growing up Muslim I know this first hand (which is why I don't really care about the existence of God or not). Muslims (and not all of them) don't like Jews because they are in the Quran, 'cursed people' -- that, and they are in the land of Israel and have taken Palestinian land. Christians fought the Crusades to deliver the word of 'their' God to the unbelievers. It's only Jews that have not pushed their beliefs on others, but in the spirit of the religion, it's a very exclusive club

People often equivocate morality with religion. I don't think they are necessarily dependant on one another. I think you can be a very moral and ethical person and be athiest -- I am. If we can treat each other with respect, respect their beliefs and not intrude on others to believe what WE believe -- the world will be a better place. At least I think it will

More wars were fought in the name of God than any other cause... so maybe we need less God
