More (paraphrased) evidence of big oil brainwashing out children from the Washington Post:

In the past year alone […], Exxon Mobil donated over $40 million to key organizations that influence the way our children (from kindergarten to high school) learn about science.

The NSTA's list of corporate donors also includes Shell Oil and the American Petroleum Institute (API), which funds NSTA's Web site. There, students can find a section called 'Running on Oil' and read a page that touts the industry's "environmental track record," which basically credits the oil companies for introducing improvements to protect the environment. In reality, the improvements are actually regulations that were forced upon them by the government only after they fought long and hard with capitol hill lobbying to stop the regulations.

The NSTA has also distributed a video produced by the American Petroleum Institute called 'You Can't Be Cool Without Fuel,' a shameless pitch for oil dependence.
