Hi everybody,
Can anyone please help and explain the differences between the following part numbers? Both are showing as Mazda CX7 Xenon HID headlights. Drivers side OEM: EG22-51-041P and OEM: EH10-51-041B Passenger side: OEM: EG22-51-031N and OEM: EH10-51-031B I recently moved from Ireland (RHD) to Holland (LHD) and brought over my CX-7, which and I am now legally required to change the head lights to LHD units. Unfortunately, these units (EH10-51-041B and EH10-51-031 are proving to be very expensive in Holland, just over €1,000 each excluding VAT! I found the "EG" part numbers on an American website at a fraction of the cost but I don't understand the difference in the part numbers. If anybody can explain the difference or provide a cheaper alternative to my dilemma, I'd very much appreciate your assistance. |

Hi
I'm in a similar boat to you. I have a 2008 RHD CX7, but I live in France. I need to get it French registered now and have done some research. The following parts seem to be the same LHS OEM: Go-part EG22-51-041P $379.95 allMazda.net EH10-51-041B € 667.76 autolightcenter.com ALC-1419458 $389.62 RHS OEM: Go-part EG22-51-031N $379.95 allMazda.net EH10-51-031B € 773.89 autolightcenter.com ALC-1419457 $389.62 and compatible with the European spec cars as the part numbers cross reference. Go-part.com and autolightcentre want an additional $97 for shipping. Don't forget that you may attract an import duty of I think 3.5% (for UK) and a VAT (20% in UK) charge in addition to the above. I will have my lights shipped to UK as I have an address there. This comes to a total of about £684 or €786. Bearing in mind the huge difference in used car prices between UK/Eire and the rest of Europe it makes sense to do the conversion. Do you have to get a Certificate of Conformity for NL registration? I get these from eurococ.eu. |

Hi RussG,
Thank you very much for your time and effort in helping. I completely agree with you that it makes more sense to convert the head lights considering the same car costs approximately €34,000 in Holland and I'd be lucky to sell my car back in Ireland for €18,000! Simple maths in the end. I've been in touch with ATS Imports (www.autobedrijfats.nl) who say they're able to convert the existing headlights to LHD units, at a cost of between €250 and €350 each plus labour. Would you have any idea how long it would take to remove and install both head lights? I've tried to download the service maintenance manual procedure but with out any success. From my seach on the internet it does'nt appear to be straight forward... In relation to the Certificate of Conformity for NL registration, we haven't came across any requirement for it yet, but thanks for the heads up. Again, thank you for your assistance. Regards, Clem. |
