Hi! I am researching cross over SUVs that can comfortably seat four adults plus one toddler, one infant, and one baby (in March 2008). The SUVs that I will be test driving are the following;
Mazda CX-9 AWD Touring Honda EX-L AWD Pilot Saturn Outlook XR AWD Volvo XC90 V6 AWD (w/ third row installed) Can any Mazda CX-9 owner tell me if three car seats can fit together in the second row? Is that legal? If that doesn't work can I leave two car seats in the second row with space in between them and be able to have an adult push forward the second row forward and get into the third row without removing or loosening the car seat? Thank you all for your time. |

The convertible car seats are safe and easy to install. They can be easily installed and removed when ever needed. The car seats should be installed in the back seat in rear facing position. The rear facing is better for the kids safety. Its better to have the rear facing till the kid is 4 or 5 years old.

Convertible car seats let you use the same seat from the day your baby is born through forty pounds. They will have both a rear-facing and forward-facing weight limit. The rear-facing limit may be as high as 30-35 pounds. They may have removable inserts that effectively make the seat smaller to fit an infant.

mazda cx 9 would be my absolute recommendation.. enough legroom and enough headroom..the interior is just not congested like others..

You can absolutely put a seat on each end of the 2nd row... but you would have to move one of them every time you went to put the seat down to access the 3rd row. What you CAN do... is access the 3rd row from the back of the CX-9. My son loves to get to his carseat that way. Just keep 1 carseat back there and one seat free. Then leave the free seat down. When they need to get in, open up the hatch and let them climb in. Doesn't work for adults though... |
