Hi, I just bought a 2004 Miata 5speed, not the LS. I have no clue where to start. I was wondering what would be a few first modifications you would suggest putting on the car?

Congratz!

For starters try: Intake, Header and Exhaust. Once you do the following consider adjustable dampers and lowering springs. After this consider camshafts, valve springs/retainers. Most importantly: Forced Induction. HKS turbo setup. with 100 shot N2O

Good Luck!

I agree with him on everything but the N2O. Greddy makes a very good exhaust system. And great turbos too.

What do you want out of the car. I'd go along with Seldomseen but you'll most likely void your warranty. If your looking to race find a cheap one on the side and gut it out. At least if the car is down you can still get around.

[B][FONT=Impact]If you wanted an HKS turbo kit made for the miata you would have to import it from japan, because it is not available from HKS USA, but I would agree with seldomseen on everything but the NOS, you might consider sway bars also, try the Tire Rack they seem to have alot of suspension components, if you are going to autoX you should probally do light mods first so then you can get the feeling of your car then start forced induction.
