Hi. I have been browsing and surfing for information regarding the ignition timing for my Maxda 323 1.3L LX model. Been through different shops but the sluggish problem still exist. I've change the clucth disc as well as spark plugs, air filters etc but to no avail. One shop gave me a 3 degrees BTDC while another a 6-8 degrees and lately i adjusted this 12 deg BTDC. Its gas consumption is roughly at 6-8 kilometers/liter city driving and mind you, its a 1300cc. My other car a Mitsubishi Lancer 87' can go more than 10K/liter city driving but its a 1400cc. Can anyone offer help? Thnx and more power to the group.

Same problem here.. I own a 1997 Mazda 323 LX 1.3L but it consumes about 6-8 Kilometers per liter. Is that normal for a 1.3L car?

I guess it isnt normal for a small engine. A 1300 at that and drives only 6-8 km/liter. Maybe a design problem or maybe a defect on the part of the engine
