well, the motor is pretty much ready to come out with the exception of the starter motor still being hooked up. all the gas crap is off and wiring is out..

heres a pic of the motor as you can see most of the **** is taken off 8)

pic of the thermo fans, gonna **** off the engine fan in favour of these beasts..

shot of the interior, with all the gas bullshit taken out.. so much cleaner. haha

cheers, Nick

Thanks for keepin us up to date.....I see that piece of wood holding up the hood, is that b/c of removing the lift supports for access or are they spent?? If they are spent....here's a deal for ya..I got them and its great to not have to prop up the hood anymore!!! Keep us posted!

nitros did you have lifter noise or any signs of this problem that would lead to the swap?

not really, it used to be noisy in the moring for a while then go away.. it was very down on power for ages as well. the engine used to leak trans oil and engine oil like a siv, and it was gonna cost me best part of $1k to get all the oil leaks fixed not to mention the heads redone...

plus i always wanted to go DOHC so i was sorta looking for a reason to do it anyway...
