you have to keep the auto comp b/c the car still has to think its got the auto trans. WHat you do is tell the car its in park and neutral. Park is so the car can start, and N so the car can run the the neutral program for engine fuel/air control. Also you will ahve to wire in a clutch neutral switch and reverse lights switch. I did this for the SHO and it was easy b/c of a fellow forum member sent me the wiring schematics. here is a sniped of his e-mail. Hopefully this helps a little, unfortunatly i dont have the wiring schematics for the HC 929. I'm sure you can test which signals are output when the car is in park and neutral and go from there.

"The attached photo (MPS for MTX) shows the inner workings of this sensor. Not shown is the slider arm that rotates back and forth as the gear selector is shifted into the different gears. The black half of this sensor feeds directly into the engine control computer (PCM), telling it which gear the auto tranny is in. This is the part that you need to fool into "Drive" to disable the 4k rev limit. The white half of the sensor contains the switch for the starter enable in P or N and the reverse lights when its in R. Luckily for us, the white half is completely independent of the black half, so you can effectively make the PCM think it's always in Drive so that you dont get the low rev limiter, and independently select Park or Reverse to make the car start or illuminate the reverse lights.

To enable the starter, the easy way is to simply solder a wire across the "P" contacts on the white half. This would bypass the clutch safety switch, however. If you want to retain the safety feature, first you'll have to cut the proper connector from the MTX donor car that plugs into the clutch safety switch, leaving as much wire length as possible on the connector. Solder a pair of wires onto the "P"
contacts, run them through the firewall and wire them to the clutch switch connector, doesn't matter which order, then plug it into the clutch switch.

Similarly, to get the reverse lights to work, steal the reverse switch connector from the MTX donor car and wire the two leads up to the "R"
contacts.

To disable the 4k rev limiter, simply solder a jumper wire on the black half as shown in the photo. The other jumper is not necessary as it is intended to disable the liftgate on the station wagon when shifted out of Park."

Step away from the computer and smack yourself silly for a while...Come back and look at what you asked...Repeat self smacking until the answer is obvious.

Thanks rdg.
i have been looking at the wiring diagrams for both the AT and the engine, and it seems that it may be possible to just unplug the AT computer and leave it at that. then i will have to find a way of tricking it to make the car start, shouldnt be too hard.

the 2 things i am troubled by at the moment are what driveshaft and flywheel i can use. does anyone know if a turbo 2 FC3S manual driveshaft and flywheel will work? and when you figure out how to jump the neutral start switch to run the auto ecu let me know asap as i have a turbo 2 tranny sitting here waiting to go in and thats one of the things stumping me.

Good to hear you are serious about this I'm eagerly looking forward to this. Its prolly a good idea to continue this thread as you progress with the project.

OOOH and the car sounds mean esp when you rev her. How is your torque band?

with out actually putting the thing on the dyno, it feels a bit gutless below about 3k rpm, after that it just takes off likea rocket. funny thing is i havnt started the thing in about 2-3 months, turned te key and she popped into life straight away.

now i gotta go and move all the cars out so i can start work on the beast. the gearbox and conversion bits are comming on thursday.
