Question to you then. Do you think a set of OEM struts/springs would drop a Luce more than 50 front and 40 rear. Alot more like 80 front and 60 rear because remember (I think) that this member swapped in OEM struts/springs but cut the rears 2" (FC OEM set up only dropped the rear 20mm from what i remember)

What Im tryin to solve is that can a FC assembly with a stiff (with minimal drop; custom) FC spring be used in a USDM 929. Im trying to discover a new way to slam thats cheaper way than coilovers (although I know I want coilovers). You could think of it this way, find a set of someones FC strut/spring, replace with a custom spring and your slammed. Or am I missing somthing here ??

The acheived height I would like for daily driving is like above but with more clearance in the rear. With the stiff rates it should not drop too much with load.

One thing seems to me, is that USDM 929's sit higher than Luce's though...

My bad for going waay off topic.

Well that was my original theory, I was going to get some FC oem suspension, gut out the front strut legs and fit Koni inserts, and then heavy-duty, stock-height, FC springs. The rears would just be an FC Koni which would just bolt up to the HC top hat.

But when I went to the wrecking yard to buy some dead FC suspension legs, there were a dead set of Teins just sitting there with what I knew were HC strut hats, so I bought those, and that's how I headed down then Tein path.

But having had the Tein experience so far, I don't know if maybe even 50%-stiffer FC springs might be enough to prevent a lot of suspension sag. Eg, having seen how much the 330lb front Tein springs compress in my car, when the Teins eventually go back in I will fit stronger 440lb springs instead...but if you want o go as low as that white car above, I think that you would prolly get that ride height (which is a fair bit lower than my car IMHO)

Essentially it would work then.

So you found FC coilvers with HC srut hats already installed ? Man you got lucky.

The 929 only wieghs just over 200 pounds more than the heaviest FC. The white Luce is pretty dumped, I would want it to sit a bit higher, maybe 15mm more up front and 25mm in the back.

i will let you know about the FC strut/spring combo. my friend has a set of climbgear struts matched with Apex springs that i'm buying. i will do a write up if you'd like.

i have the stock strut/springs on my FC just sitting there. i will put them on if you guys believe that i can install the stock HC suspension on the fc to still be able to roll it around.

Either way, Id like to see if it can be done. A write up and pictures would be appreciated.

What is the drop on the Apex spring ?
