i also have the chrome bonnet strip that needs to be glued (i think...?)[/b]

usually most glues wont stick cause of the heat around that area which makes them brittle in the first place.

and they are around $270 brand new from mazda in australia.

lesson learned - never lift ya bonnet by the plastic chrome bit on the front. always put ya hand under the bonnet on the front beside plastic bit and lift.
i made a concieous effort to make my self do it. as the alternate breakage will be costly if ya keep doing it..

if the work shop broke it while doing your car make them pay for it to be fixed as its there responsibility.

i got one from wrecker for $20 with all the posts intact (mine was siliconed)

what im thinking of actually getting that 'Bond-it' from repco (its this powder stuff that becomes rock hard - they claim that it can repair holes(not cracks) in tranny casing)

im thinking bond-it between the post and the actual back of the trim, hence making it a solid unit..... idea is there, not sure if it will work

that sounds like a good idea. Do you think Sikaflex would work?

i was thinking about filling the inside with a hard foam or rubber and then sticking it on so that it can grip to something other than those spindly posts.

the problem with bond-it is, what if you need to get it off for a respray ect?

cheers Louis

have paid for the fuel pressure reg, just waiting for it to arrive

if you use sikaflex you will definetly have the same issue as with bond-it.

you can try them guys but dont forget some glues produce acid as they dry which promotes rust..

guys what i meant is getting another one...... and filling the post between where the bolt is and the back of the trim.... as they are U shaped and hence are weak. once it all dried up you can bolt it up as normal.... shouldn't affect how it mounts or dismounts

Oh yeah....can you measure your ride heights for us? From wheel centre to wheelarch lip (if you measure from ground to wheelarch lip the setting would be different unless we have the same size tyres as you)
