If you're going to get an aftermarket one, go for the S4 FC one (that's the one we definitely know works in an HC).

You don't have to specify if it's to upgrade the stock LSD or to replace a stock open diff, it's the same part, and yes you just need the centre, the rest of the parts you can recycle from your HC diff.

Well if you could find a 4.3 FD diff, it would have a torsen inside and that would kill 2 birds with the one stone.

So even if you couldn't use the CWP it would still be a good score if you could find one.[/b]
so what is our factory ratio kev??

and how hard is it to find a FD torsen LSD over here??

edit: might have found one. anyone know the HC rotary luce ratio???

hi guys did a bit of research on the ausrotary forum and BINGO!!!!!

link here--->http://www.ausrotary.com/viewtopic.php?t=1...&highlight=

FD rx7 diff center (all are factory Torsen LSD) bolts into turbo FC rx7 housing.

so with the rotary version Luce at least.

you have a choice of FC and FD diff centers..

so FD torsen for the Luce here i come...

just incase anyone is interested.

the run of the mill LSD FD factory center comes 4.1. there is a rarer 4.3 in special models and a factory option of 4.777

im going to try and source a second hand FD diff get it serviced and buy a 4.3 ratio for the Luce (they cost around $699 from mazda for pinion and crownwheel)

Simmo, torsens don't wear out, so you don't need to get it reshimmed or anything before installation. As long as the helical gears aren't chipped or anything just bung it in

that is correct the FD/FC center will bolt into the HC carrier. but you will need to use the HC/FC gears..

but from what ive found lately even the FD boys are chasing the FC center as they are stronger than the FD.
